Twelve Scholars: Volume 1
The brief
Twelve Scholars is a learning platform for leadership development.
Each quarter, it explores one aspect of leadership with a focus on the habits and behaviors that define success. Sharing insights and global perspectives, it explores what ‘excellence’ looks like and offers practical advice and top tips to get you ahead. It combines print, digital and audio to deliver a unified approach to leadership development.
Our response
The printed journal is a quarterly printed publication, somewhere between a magazine and a coffee-table book. It builds on previous learnings and forms a reference library, so it was crucial that the finish reflected the quality of all other aspects of Twelve Scholars.
Working closely with the customer, we created a 240 x 170mm, 180-page brochure, with an anti-scuff lamination, UV varnished and section sewn to give a long last piece that can be read and referred to time and again throughout the reader’s learning journey. Twelve Scholars believe this unique combination of print, digital and podcast will be a catalyst for career development.
Working in partnership
With this project we had the benefit of being involved from the very beginning. The client had examples of brochures that he was looking to emulate and between us we came to a specification that was cost effective whilst maintaining a high-end feel. Over a period of 6 months, we produced digitally printed one-off samples so the client could check on how the copy was looking in print.
When the final artwork was signed-off we organised a press pass where the client signed off each section double checking each paragraph and the quality of the images. To add to the existing online marketing, several videos were made of the press in full production, highlighting the speed and precision of the print.
